Shankari and Yogesh (Jackie & Greg Van Acker) are the founders and directors of AT THE CORE. Fifteen years ago, they began the journey to leave unsatisfying careers in policing and financial banking to pursue their dream of living and sharing health and wellness. For more than 13 years their life has been dedicated to the practice, study and teaching of Consciousness and the Vedic Sciences of Yoga, Meditation, Ayurveda and Jyotish (Vedic Astrology).
During their trip to India in March 2016 they were blessed with the spiritual names of Shankari Sarasvati Yogini and Yogi Yogesh Nataraj by their teachers Vamadeva Shastri (Dr. David Frawley) and Yogini Shambhavi Devi. The taking of a spiritual name strengthens the commitment to freedom from the binding ties of form and is chosen specific to the unique gifts and nature of the Yogi. The name inspires and supports the deeper soul stirrings to unfold in this life-time.
Tracey DeVuono balances a full time career and family-life with her personal practice and studies. She has been a nurse for over 30 years and has practiced yoga for the past ten years. In 2013 she began taking AT THE CORE classes with Greg. Skeptical at first due to the gentleness of the class; in three short weeks she noted a subtle shift in both her personal and professional life. The journey continued with personal consultations, workshops and learning to meditate.
Tracey has experienced that the keys to peace and healing are held within. She has personally experienced that taking time out of our busy lives to connect our mind, body and spirit through the practices of gentle yoga and breathing will create positive change.
Tracey graduated from the Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training class of 2015 and the Ayurvedic Healing Course in 2016. These journeys have been personal, spiritual and powerful. She is excited to be a part of the AT THE YOGA team of Yoga Educators and to continue her studies with the 500 hour Yoga, Ayurveda, Mantra and Meditation Course in 2017/18.
